One of France’s leading nursery chains buys up more of UK childcare market

Grandir which owns Les Petite Chaperons Rouge (LPCR), comprising of over 300 nurseries in France, is continuing its expansion into the UK by buying up Kiddi Caru’s 20 nurseries.

Kiddi Caru which was run by The Childcare Corporation Limited, has now become part of Grandir UK.

Earlier this year, Grandir acquired 16 settings run by Magic Nurseries and its chief executive, Jean-Emmanuel Rodocanachi, indicated then there would be more British acquisitions to come.

He announced the purchase of Kiddi Caru, saying: “Since the acquisition of Magic Nurseries earlier this year, we have looked at several opportunities to provide the right platform to create a high-quality childcare business in the UK.

“We are impressed with Kiddi Caru’s culture, focus, along with their staff’s on-going commitment to the children in their care. Busy Bees Childcare acquires another six prime location nurseries

The UK’s leading provider of childcare has acquired six new nurseries, taking its total to 340 nurseries across the UK.

Four of the nurseries were formerly owned by Bramley’s Nurseries:  Bramley’s Day Nurseries in Ardington, Rockwell House Day Nursery in Wantage, Ladygrove Nursery in Didcot and York House Day Nursery in Salisbury.

The other two are Toybox Great Denham Nursery in Bedfordshire and Heriot Hill Nursery in Edinburgh.

The company’s portfolio now stretches to 340 nurseries across England, Scotland and Wales, providing care for over 35,000 children aged from three months to five years with over 8,000 staff.  Full story – BQLive

Oxfordshire nurseries taken over by UK chain

A NURSERY chain responsible for hundreds of Oxfordshire children has been taken over.

The founder of Bramleys Nurseries said she is stepping back from a ‘life’s work’, after the businesses was bought by the ever-growing Busy Bees group.

Bramleys runs four nurseries of which three are within the county: Rockwell House Day Nursery in Wantage, Bramleys Day Nursery in Ardingdon near Wantage, and Ladygrove Day Nursery in Didcot.

Sue Watson, who founded Bramleys in 1990, said the decision had not been taken lightly.  Full story – The Herald

Voyage acquires Focused Healthcare

Specialist care provider Voyage Care has acquired Focused Healthcare Ltd (FHL), which provides care services to children and young people with complex, acute and chronic illnesses. Based in London, FHL was set up in 2009 by paediatric nurse Nicki Nicholls who will continue to manage day-to-day operations at FHL as managing director.  Read more – Careinfo.org
